What should I wear? As with any medical examination, to facilitate a full examination of the spine or problem area you will probably be asked to undress to your underwear, so please wear something you are comfortable in. If you feel more comfortable in a T-shirt and shorts, there are changing facilities available. Gowns are also available on request.
Can I bring a friend or relative? Yes – if you wish, you can have someone present throughout your consultation and treatment.
Does it hurt? Some soft tissue treatment may cause discomfort during treatment. I will tell you what to expect and will want you to let me know if you are in pain. You may feel a little stiff or sore after treatment. This is a normal, healthy response to the treatment.
Do I need to see my doctor first? You do not need to see your doctor first if you are paying for your own treatment. However, some insurance companies require you to see your doctor first. Osteopathy is available on the NHS in some areas – and national guidelines say it should be available everywhere for low back pain.
How much does treatment cost? For this information go to Booking & Prices Concessions are available for students, OAPs and the unemployed. Proof of your status will be required.
Do you take medical insurance? We do not claim directly from insurance companies on your behalf. All treatments must be settled in full and I will give you a receipt with which you can claim back from your insurance For more information go to my Booking & Prices page
How many treatments will I need? The number of treatments needed depends on the condition and person I am treating. I aim to keep your appointments to a minimum. I will be able to tell you within a short period of time whether I can treat you or if I need to refer you to someone else.
What if I need to cancel my appointment? If for any reason you need to cancel an appointment, please contact me as soon as possible on 07734 200 874. Any cancellations received less than 24 hours before an appointment will be result in the full rate being charged for the session.
